First Film Laurels

I was accepted into Lift-Off Global Network’s Filmmakers Sessions, Volume 7!

For a first-time filmmaker, I believe that getting into the festival and film event scene takes intention. I did all the research, asked all the questions, and quickly realized how daunting it can be even to try to get your work noticed. So then, naturally, I dug even further, and I found a treasure trove of places for people like me to share work with those who really want to see it. Lift-Off Global wants new indie films, students, and fresh stories. Not every place values who you know; you just need to look in all the right nooks and crannies.

Since my acceptance, I have come to appreciate film in its vastness— something I did not understand before.

It was also quite moving that work deeply personal to me was recognized and appreciated by others. I am excited to see where this journey takes me!
